  • Notebooks and pads (without metal spirals)
  • Newspapers and magazines

How to dispose of paper, cardboard, and cartons?

  • Place your paper and cardboard waste in the designated bin.
  • Break down anything that doesn’t fit in the bin. The lid must be closed when the waste collectors pick it up.
  • Large amounts of paper are heavy. If the bin is too heavy (50 kg), the collectors may leave it unemptied for health reasons.
  • Large quantities of cardboard and cartons can be collected upon request at hentavfall.no, or you can deliver them yourself to one of IVAR's recycling stations (pages are in Norwegian).

What happens to paper and cardboard waste?

Recycled paper and cardboard are valuable raw materials. They are sent to paper mills in Norway or abroad and turned into new products.

Drink cartons are also recycled into new products.

Sort your drink cartons – win cash!

Write your name and number clearly on the drink cartons you sort, and you’ll be entered in the return carton lottery (page is in Norwegian).
